The basics:
How long have you been knitting? On and off for thirty years
Do you consider yourself a beginning sock knitter, an intermediate, or have you been doing this so long you could probably knit a pair in your sleep? A pair of socks in my sleep, yes...an Aran sweater, not yet

The measurements:
While your pal may ask for some additional info to ensure a great fit, please provide your shoe size, or any other fitting related info you think is pertinent.

Do you prefer solids or variegated? solids - thanks to Nancy Bush
What fibers do you most love to knit with? wool, natural fibers
Who do you consider your favorite yarn vendors? Lorna's Laces, Wildfoote, Opal Uni, Jaeger Matchmaker, Mountain Colors Bearfoot (varigated but I love, love, love it!)
What projects (other than socks, of course*S*) do you most enjoy knitting?
Aran sweaters, Alice Starmore sweaters and Fair Isle Mittens

(fiber related) Dislikes:
What fibers can you not stand to knit with? To wear? acrylics and novelty yarns
What colors would you never wear? pink and blue

When is your birthday? (month and day is fine!) October 25
Do you spin? Dye your own yarn? nope
Your favorite author/band/vacation spot, anything you think will help your pal know you better... Charles Dickens and Jane Austen are my favorite authors. I like Classical, Christian and Seventies music. I like to listen to books on tape and going for long walks. I am a softee for old movies, even those in black and white.
