To Grandmother's House We Go..........

DH and I are getting up at 2:00 a.m. to leave our house by 3:00 a.m. to catch an early flight to my parent's house for Thanksgiving. I am trying to decide if I should go to bed early, or do as my daughter's used to do prior to a trip, just stay up until it is time to leave.

If I stay up, I can add a thumb to my Nordic Mittens:

You would not believe how many ends there are to weave in on the inside! Actually, that might be a good project for the plane flight!

I'm taking SHEDIR for the airport and subsequent 1-1/2 hr. drive from the airport to my parent's house. And, I recently purchased this fun little project from Two Swans, a fair isle sampler teapot cozy. This is an educational class all put together in one little cozy - practicing the tension of two-handed knitting so that the letters show up, steeks, corrugated ribbing and I-cords. I purchased two skeins of Jamieson Spindrift to match my Old Country Rose china.

The most exciting thing about this trip, other than seeing my parents, is getting to spend a week with my sweet daughters! They will be driving from Auburn University and meeting up with us in Texas.

My oldest daughter has been interviewing all month with different companies for a position as Chemical Engineer.....her first real job! She has offers in hand and we will have a chance to sit down with her and go through the pros and cons of each company. Unfortunately for me, none of the companies are located in Colorado. DH keeps reminding me that she will only be a plane flight away

I am more than overdue for a hug from my girls as I have not seen them since AUGUST. The youngest, little-miss-nursing-student, has the biggest mercy heart you will ever come across. Her patients adore her. Her smile lights up the room and, I am certain, their hearts as well.....

So..................do you think I should take fewer clothes so I can fit in my 18 skeins for my ALCEA sweater?
